Armagh Planetarium is a world-renowned astronomical educational establishment. Established in 1968 its purpose is to bring astronomy to a wider audience.
The Planetarium is a multifaceted organisation dedicated to astronomy education for all levels, from nursery through to retirement age. It is the Planetarium's unique ability to adapt to changing audience needs that have enabled it to stay at the forefront of science education since its formation. The Planetarium offers a unique visitor or corporate experience in Ireland. The newly refurbished Digital Theatre recreates stunning visualisations of the night sky.
Armagh Planetarium is the only site in the UK and Ireland where visitors can experience the fantastic new Digistar4 360 degree immersive projection system, which can take you to other worlds. The Planetarium features extensive exhibits highlighting the exploration of space and how this is helping us better understand our own place in the cosmos. Staff run live activities for visitors of all ages, including the ever-popular build and launch your own rocket workshop. Visitors can stroll through the landscaped Astropark, a scale model of the universe
